72. The Handle Story of @Absolute_Purple
I started my twitter journey way back in October, 2009 because my friend from college @repello_muggle used to talk a lot about it. Initially, I joined out of curosity and it took me more than a year to figure out what twitter really was. I found it slow and boring and after even forgot all about it after making an account. I came back months later, to find out that I was being followed by strangers, which I didn’t really like considering I was too much of a facebook person. By around end of 2010, things changed. It took me time but I started enjoying interacting with strangers with whom I had little in common.
Today twitter is very much a part of my life. Twitter is my diary, it is punching bag, it is where I share my insecurities, my happiness, where I can crib, cringe, whine and rant about how fucked up my life is. I tweet mostly about the trivialities of my life. I have known and met some of the most amazing people on twitter, many of whom are good friends, some who are acquaintances and well wishers and a few who continue to remain strangers inspite of meeting them. Twitter is 140 characters of pure bliss.
Coming to my handle story, I started my twitter journey as @Munmun_19, which is my nickname and 19 being my birthdate but soon I got bored of it. My second twitter handle was @Deecee_19, DC again happens to be my nickname and 19 just came along with it. Around a year later, I felt the need to change my handle again, and became @nonchalant_19, from my blog, http://thenonchalantcribber.blogspot.in. I kept that handle for a long time before finally changing it to @absolute_purple, a handle I don’t intend to change ever. Purple defines me and is not just a color. From my clothes, bags, shoes, phone cover, purple is a very dominant force in my life.
